All topics can be covered in both Bachelor’s theses (30–40 pages) and Master’s theses (50–60 pages).
If you are interested, please send us a brief profile outlining your academic and professional skills and research interests, together with a half-page motivation letter. In the letter, please briefly explain why you are interested in the selected topic and describe any relevant prior knowledge or experience that you would bring to the thesis.
Topic 1: Analysis and Evaluation of Use Cases and Drone Systems for CEP Logistics
The aim of this thesis is to identify suitable use cases for drone-based transport and to evaluate appropriate drone systems for these applications. To this end, existing CEP processes are analyzed and relevant criteria such as delivery time, shipment weight, transport distance, range, and operational requirements are derived. Based on these criteria, selected drone classes are compared in terms of their suitability for the identified use cases. The result is a mapping of suitable drone systems to specific logistics application scenarios.
Topic 2: Design and Economic Evaluation of Logistics Processes Using Delivery Drones
The aim of this thesis is to design and economically evaluate combined vehicle-drone processes for three reference operating modes: shuttle operation, multi-stop operation, and hub operation. The respective process flows are modeled and analyzed in terms of time, performance, costs, and organizational requirements. Particular attention is given to the mobile take-off and landing platform, parcel handover, and integration into existing courier processes. The result is a comparison of the three operating modes and the identification of the conditions under which they can be economically viable compared with conventional transport processes.
Topic 3: Stakeholder Analysis for Drone-Based Logistics
The aim of this thesis is to systematically identify and analyze relevant stakeholders involved in the use of delivery drones. Based on a literature review and semi-structured expert interviews with selected stakeholder groups, their roles, interests, requirements, influence, and potential areas of conflict are examined. Differences between rural, semi-urban, and urban areas are also considered. The result is a structured stakeholder map from which recommendations for the participation and involvement of relevant actors are derived.

Topic 4: Acceptance of Delivery Drones Among Companies and Logistics Stakeholders
The aim of this thesis is to investigate the conditions under which companies would be willing to use drone-based transport services. Interviews or surveys are used to examine factors such as perceived benefits, costs, reliability, time savings, safety requirements, and integration into existing processes. The result is the identification of key acceptance and decision-making criteria for the operational use of delivery drones.
