Theses – MTU Aero Engines

MTU Aero Engines is looking for Bachelor and Master students (f/m/d) – Business Informatics (or comparable course of studies) to work on the following thesis topics. The theses are supervised by the Logistics Living Lab / Institute for Business Informatics and can be worked on remotely.

Topics

  • Conceptual design and prototypical implementation of an Industrial IoT Adapter (PLC4X) for the processing of (real-time) machine data as well as data integration into analysis systems.
  • Maintenance 4.0 – Development of a concept and implementation of an architecture based on open source technologies that meets the requirements of modern manufacturing systems in the aviation industry. This must be scalable and centrally maintainable and manageable, as well as having the necessary edge computing functionalities. Specifically, the extension of devices in production (edge devices) with Kubernetes functionalities (such as deployment, networking, metadata synchronization, etc.) is to be investigated and implemented.
